IPTVs Canada TV on a MAG box

A MAG box has no username and no password. It is tied to its MAC address, so the address is registered first, and the portal fills once that is done.

Send us the MAC address

It is printed on the label under the box and shown in System Settings, in the form 00:1A:79:XX:XX:XX. Send it on WhatsApp before you touch anything else, because nothing loads until it is registered.

Open the portal settings

  1. 01When the box has finished booting, open Settings, or press the SETUP or SET button on the remote.
  2. 02Go to System Settings, then Servers, then Portals.

Type in the portal URL

  1. 01Portal 1 Name: anything you like.
  2. 02Portal 1 URL: the portal address you were sent on WhatsApp.
  3. 03Press OK to save.

Set the time server and restart

  1. 01In System Settings, open the time or NTP section.
  2. 02Enter ca.pool.ntp.org, or pool.ntp.org if the box is outside North America.
  3. 03Leave the settings and choose Restart Portal.
Note. If the guide comes up empty, the time server is the first thing to check. The box needs the correct time to line the programmes up against the channels.

MAG boxes activate by MAC, which is why the address comes first. Formuler boxes do the same through MYTV Online, and BuzzTV boxes have a portal screen that looks much the same. Read the channel list before buying a box.
